Sirih cina

MENANAM SIRIH CINA

1. Persiapan Media Tanam

Sirih cina suka tempat lembap tetapi tidak tergenang air. Gunakan:

  • Tanah gembur

  • Campuran kompos/pupuk kandang

  • Sedikit pasir agar lebih porous

Perbandingan ideal: 2 bagian tanah : 1 bagian kompos : 1 bagian pasir.

2. Cara Perbanyakan

A. Dari biji

  1. Tabur biji di permukaan media (biji sangat kecil).

  2. Tutup tipis dengan tanah.

  3. Jaga kelembapan dengan menyemprot air halus.

  4. Letakkan di tempat teduh.

B. Dari stek batang (paling mudah)

  1. Ambil batang sehat sepanjang ±5–8 cm.

  2. Buang daun bagian bawah, sisakan 2–3 daun.

  3. Tancapkan stek ke media tanam.

  4. Siram ringan.

3. Lokasi & Cahaya

  • Tempat teduh atau cahaya tidak langsung.

  • Jangan terkena panas matahari langsung terlalu lama karena daun mudah layu.

4. Penyiraman

  • Jaga tanah tetap lembap.

How to Grow Peperomia pellucida (Shiny Bush / Clearweed)

    1. Prepare the Growing Medium

Shiny bush prefers moist but well-drained soil. Use:

    • Loose garden soil

    • Compost or manure

    • A bit of sand for better drainage

Ideal ratio: 2 parts soil : 1 part compost : 1 part sand.

    2. Propagation Methods

    A. From Seeds

    1. Sprinkle the tiny seeds on the soil surface.

    2. Cover lightly with a thin layer of soil.

    3. Keep the soil moist by misting gently.

    4. Place in a shaded area.

    B. From Stem Cuttings (easiest method)

    1. Select a healthy stem about 5–8 cm long.

    2. Remove the lower leaves, leaving 2–3 leaves at the top.

    3. Insert the cutting into the growing medium.

    4. Water lightly.

    3. Light Requirements

    • Place in a shaded spot or bright indirect light.

    • Avoid direct harsh sunlight, which can make the leaves wilt.

    4. Watering

    • Keep the soil consistently moist.

    • Water every 2–3 days or whenever the soil starts to dry.

    • Do not overwater to prevent root rot.

    5. Routine Care

    • Remove weeds around the plant.

    • Trim yellow or dying leaves to encourage new growth.

    • If grown in a pot, refresh the soil every 3–4 months.

    6. Harvesting

    • The plant can be harvested after 1–2 months.

    • Leaves can be used as a vegetable or herbal remedy (e.g., for mild inflammation).
Note: Use in moderation and make sure it’s free from pesticides.
